Long Four Acres

Mulbarton, Norfolk

Long Four Acres is an innovative development in the heart of South Norfolk which enables people to design and create their own bespoke home with as much input into the design and build process as they desire. Since its launch to the market in June 2018, 7 plots have been reserved and those soon-to-be residents are working with their preferred architects and designers to ready their plans to submit them for detailed planning consent.

Each plot at Long Four Acres is available to purchase with all the infrastructure works done by the developer and each plot serviced with the following utilities:

  • Electricity
  • Water
  • Drainage
  • Telecoms - Including Ultra Fast BT Fibre Optic Broadband            (Perfect for working from home!)

The infrastructure works has now begun and the development is on course to provide purchasers with the road and the servicing before Christmas 2018, enabling them to begin building in the early part of 2019!

Each plot runs parallel to Long Four Acres Avenue, which is currently being formed by Civil Engineering Company; Overmill’s. They are wide and deep, with build zones set far from the road side to provide distance and privacy, yet enabling new residents to create a home which benefits from a large front and rear garden. The largest available plot is Plot 2, which comprises a total plot size of 1417m2 and it will enable new residents to create a home to match their tastes and budget.

Long Four Acres was the brain child of landowners; Karen and Kevin Keable, who like many others, harboured an ambition to create a home that was suitable to them and matched their needs as their lifestyle. With one child off to University in London and another not far behind they decided to try build a new home within the grounds of Bracon Lodge, Mulbarton, where they currently reside. Unfortunately, the land they wished to build on was 5 acres in size and their planning consultants Lanpro advised them that their plans would more than likely be refused as the land was simply too large for one house, but instead, should apply for 15 detached homes and offer them to the market as serviced self build plots.

They were successful with thanks to their organisation, tenacity and a little help from friends at Lanpro and BuildStore; the site already has new residents busy creating some exciting new house designs which are being brought to life by their preferred architects and designers including local practices; Liv Architects and NP Architects.
