Don't miss out. Final Plots remaining at Long Four Acres

Have you been watching the latest series of Grand Designs: The Street this month and been inspired by those creating their dream homes along a single street?

We were inspired too; in fact, we have been inspired for almost a year now by the prospect of a street coming together as a community of bespoke houses featuring individual and innovative designs from celebrated local and national architects.

Long Four Acres is located in the quiet village of Bracon Ash in South Norfolk. The village which benefits from a local cooperative store, primary school and nursery as well as café and community club is located only 7 miles south of East Anglia’s most northern city, Norwich. With a recently improved main road connecting Norwich to Cambridge in 40 minutes and Stansted Airport in less than two hours the connectivity in this region has been transformed with homeowners benefitting greatly from it.

The custom build development at Long Four Acres has already provided 12 couples and families the opportunity of a lifetime. The chance to create a home without compromise, to their own designs and tastes on a large plot of land which has been serviced by a developer. Each plot is serviced with drainage, electricity, water and ultra-fast fibre broadband from BT. There is no mains gas available in the area – which is common for many rural sites – so buyers have the opportunity to heat their homes through air or ground source heating. This is a cleaner, greener and more sustainable energy source which will help decrease the C02 output from their home while keeping monthly energy bills to a minimum.

Custom Build Homes is working with every buyer at Long Four Acres to support them find the right professional support for their project and budget. The UK has some of the best architects, designers and homebuilders, and each of them bring slightly different styles and skill sets. Unlike buying a new home from a housebuilder, if one person wishes to create contemporary style home whereas their neighbour has more traditional tastes, introductions are made to both to ensure their project comes to fruition as they wish, as well as on time and on budget.

The site has already benefitted from house designs from highly recommended architects such as Sasha Edmonds from Liv Architects in Norfolk. Sasha was formerly working at the hugely renowned Mole, but recently set up Liv with a friend and the practice has been going from strength to strength!

Residents at Long Four Acres can choose to do as much or as little of the construction work as they wish. Everyone’s circumstances are different; some work full time with large families and others are downsizing and building a home for retirement. Some residents have chosen to project manage their own build to save some cash, while others have decided they would rather be in the office working to pay for their home and therefore have engaged in the services of expert homebuilders and project managers such as English Brothers, based in Cambridge.

Construction has begun on site for many with new homes built with timber frames, masonry and ICF already coming out the ground on both sides of the avenue. The avenue itself has hedgerows planted along the front by the developer and trees will line it once the majority of homebuilding has been completed.
